ObjectStore Standard 2020.2 Release Notes

Introduction

We are happy to share the release notes for the ObjectStore Standard 2020.2 (2013.0 update 23).

Summary

This release is a scheduled maintenance release, which implements important bug fixes and enhancements to enhance the stability and security of the ObjectStore software.

Features

  • Support for Visual Studio 2019 (version 16.4.5).
  • New architectures have been introduced for MSVC2019, with required architecture definition files updated.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed security vulnerabilities detected on previous versions, specifically CVE-2017-9735.
  • Updated Jetty and Restlet components to rectify security issues.
  • Improved memory leak issues, thus enhancing overall application stability.
  • Resolved multiple customer defects reported through the support portal.

Changes in Release ObjectStore Standard 2020.2 (2013.0 update 23)

  • Fixed customer defect: [OSCID-37909] which addressed vulnerabilities in Jetty version 9.2.28.

Changes in Release ObjectStore Standard 2020.1 (2013.0 update 22)

  • Introduced support for Windows Server 2019.
  • Fixed defect: [OSCID-37764] related to the parsing of C++ operators with the introduction of C++20 features.

Known Issues

Some known issues include:

  • Databases growing above 1 TB may cause server crashes and potential data loss.
  • Correct indexed cursor iteration order when using multiple virtual inheritance may not be achieved.
  • C++11 and higher (Modern C++) features are not supported within ObjectStore contexts.

  • Java 7 and 8
  • Visual Studio versions from 2010 up to 2019
  • Windows Server versions 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4, 6.6, 7

Support Discontinuance

Support for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, 2012, and 2013 will be discontinued after December 31, 2020.
